We want to take a moment to reassure everyone involved with the Leon’s Heroes Obstacle Course Race that we are moving forward with the event as planned.
Our community has experienced some tremendous challenges following the recent storms, and we know there are still many moving pieces as everyone works to recover. We are incredibly grateful for all of the people working around the clock to restore roads, power, and essential services.
There may be some changes and challenges along the way, including road closures and detours as a result of the storm damage. Please don’t be alarmed. We are watching the situation closely, and we will adapt as needed.
If road closures affect access to the race, we will make sure you know where to go. Signage will be updated as necessary, and any detours will be clearly marked to help guide you to the correct location for the Obstacle Course Race.
We know things may not go exactly as planned. That’s okay.
We will roll with the punches and keep moving forward.
That spirit is at the very heart of Leon’s Heroes. This event was created to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001 and the Military, Veterans, and First Responders who have faced tremendous challenges and continued forward with courage and determination.
It is also the spirit that has inspired us as we prepare to commemorate 250 years of America.
Our country has faced difficult roads before. We have weathered storms, overcome obstacles, rebuilt, and continued looking toward the next sunrise. That same determination lives in this event.
So please don’t worry. We are on it.
We will continue to monitor conditions, communicate updates, adjust where necessary, and do everything we can to make race weekend a meaningful and memorable experience.
