At Leon’s Triathlon, that foundation is made up of people.
For many years, the members of the Carpenters Trade Union have been an important part of America’s Race. Their skill, craftsmanship, and dedication have helped create one of the most recognizable features of our event: the massive scaffolding that welcomes athletes and spectators alike.
While many people see the finished product on race day, few realize the hard work, planning, and teamwork that go into making it all happen. We do, and we are incredibly grateful.
To every carpenter who has helped build, prepare, and support Leon’s Triathlon over the years, thank you.
Your work has become part of the history of this event.
As we prepare to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of America, we also want to extend an invitation.
This race is your race, too.
We would love to see members of the Carpenters Trade Union come together, not only to help build America’s Race, but to experience it together. Whether you participate in the triathlon, take on the Obstacle Course Race, volunteer alongside your fellow union members, or simply come out with your family to support the event, you have a place here.
There is something special about taking part in an event that honors the values that built this country: hard work, service, perseverance, teamwork, and pride in a job well done.
Those same values have defined the skilled trades for generations.
Our events are intentionally rooted in moments of American history that remind us of those values. Leon’s Triathlon is held each year near the anniversary of D-Day, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the men who helped preserve freedom. Later in the year, our Obstacle Course Race is held in remembrance of September 11, honoring the heroes, first responders, and everyday Americans who came together during one of our nation’s most difficult days.
While no race could ever compare to the sacrifices made by those who served our country, we hope every participant leaves with a greater appreciation for the resilience, teamwork, and spirit that have carried America forward for 250 years.
We also recognize that many members of the Carpenters Trade Union have proudly served our country and continue to give back through programs like Helmets to Hardhats, helping veterans transition from military service into rewarding careers in the construction trades. That commitment to service reflects the very heart of what Leon’s Triathlon stands for.
America’s Race has always been about much more than crossing a finish line. It is about bringing together people from all walks of life to honor our Military, Veterans, First Responders, and the values that unite us as Americans.
The Carpenters Trade Union has helped build that experience for years, and we hope you’ll continue to be part of it for many years to come.
