There’s an amazing amount of work happening right now as we prepare for the Obstacle Course Race—the sister event to Leon’s Triathlon. Behind the scenes, countless hours, energy, and dedication are being poured into making this a one-of-a-kind experience. We are humbled to share this with people across America and want everyone to know how seriously we take this event.
Starting this Friday, you’ll see the message board light up with the names of Leon’s Heroes—a powerful reminder of why we do this. Multiple semi-trucks are being loaded with flags and scaffolding, as the stage is set for the big day.
One of the most moving parts of preparation is the hundreds of flags being placed—not only by veterans in their 70s and 80s, but also by young people from the Portage High School ROTC. This powerful coming together of generations embodies the spirit of service, honor, and respect that this event stands for.
At the National Park, people are working day and night to ensure every detail reflects the importance and meaning behind this race. This is our passion. We approach it with seriousness and humility, knowing that it takes an enormous amount of people and labor to bring it to life. Much like our freedom, we don’t take any of it for granted.
If you can join us for this magnificent event, we promise you’ll experience something unlike anything else in America. The memories made here will last a lifetime. We are so deeply grateful for everyone who takes part—whether through service, support, or simply being present to witness it all.
This isn’t just an event. It’s a tribute, a challenge, and an experience to cherish forever.
