At Leon’s Triathlon, we have always believed that some things are bigger than a race.

They are bigger than finish times, podiums, and personal records.

They are about honoring the people who have served our country and the freedoms we enjoy because of their sacrifice.

That is why we are incredibly honored to welcome the United States Navy Band to perform during our opening ceremony before the race.

Their presence will help set the tone for a weekend dedicated to patriotism, gratitude, and community. As athletes, families, veterans, active-duty military members, and supporters gather together, the music will serve as a powerful reminder of the service and commitment that have helped shape our nation for nearly 250 years.

The timing could not be more meaningful.

As Memorial Day approaches, Americans across the country pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. While we can never fully repay the debt we owe to those heroes and their families, we can honor their legacy by ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

That spirit is at the heart of Leon’s Triathlon.

For more than four decades, America’s Race has worked to honor our military, veterans, first responders, and their families. As we prepare to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America in 2026, that mission remains as important as ever.

The opening ceremony featuring the Navy Band will be a special moment for everyone in attendance. Whether you are racing, volunteering, cheering from the sidelines, or simply enjoying the event with your family, we hope you will take a moment to appreciate what makes this gathering so meaningful.

The patriotism, the music, the American flags, the veterans, the families, and the community all come together to create something that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself.

We are deeply grateful to the United States Navy for helping make this event possible and for joining us as we honor the men and women who have served our nation.

We look forward to seeing you at the starting line as we celebrate America, remember our heroes, and continue a tradition that has proudly endured since 1983.

God bless our military, our veterans, and the United States of America.
